After 25 years in the Financial Services Industry I retired as Vice President, National Sales Director of a major firm, with headquarters in the Northeast. My wife Donna and I followed a life long dream of living on our sailboat as full time cruisers. It was important to do this at a time when we were both in good health and could enjoy the many challenges and experiences cruising offered. After several years we moved back ashore to pursue other ventures, my wife to continue writing and for me to become involved in another business.

One of the opportunities sailing offered was for us to explore the entire East Coast from New Brunswick Canada to the Florida Keys. When it came time to "move ashore" we had developed a good knowledge of various coastal areas which were attractive to us in locating our new home. We chose the Southeastern Section of North Carolina considering life style, weather, cultural activities, medical and natural resources. Proof that this was the correct choice is the constant flow of friends and family, from all parts of the country, who come to visit.
