Easter at the Old Sunset Beach Bridge
Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Old Bridge Preservation Society is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt, so bunny hop over to the Sunset Beach Town Park on Saturday. The members of the OBPS Special Events Committee have planned a number of activities and games for attendees. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance. Admission is free and all are welcome. Photo opportunities will be plentiful. Events take place at the Sunset Beach Town Park beginning at 1:00. The 71st Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival will be held April 11-15 in the nearby greater Wilmington area. The festival is a celebration of Wilmington’s outstanding gardens, artwork, culture and rich history. Since its inception in 1948, the North Carolina Azalea Festival has blossomed into an extended weekend celebration that attracts more than 300,000 people and generates more than $51 million for the local economy. Holden Beach Days at the Docks Festival
April 28 – April 29, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Days at the Docks is the Holden Beach way to kick off the Spring and start the vacation season. Enjoy many arts & crafts vendors and food vendors, live music and entertainment, a cardboard box paddle race, hermit crab races, and the world famous “Bopple Race.” There will be lots of activities for the entire family and a children’s area for the kids. The Cardboard Box Paddle Race and Hermit Crab Races will be on Saturday and the Family Fun Run and the Bopple Race will be on Sunday. Free admission and free parking. Dinosaur Egg Hunt
NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher
The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher in Kure Beach will hold a Dinosaur Egg Hunt for ages 3 to 10 and offers the opportunity to create a special dinosaur egg basket as well as to search for candy-filled “dinosaur eggs”. The hunt takes place in the Aquarium garden during which you’ll meet a live baby alligator and learn about reptiles, both prehistoric and those currently stalking the earth. The Southport Spring Festival is being held March 25 & 26 at Franklin Square Park in Southport. The festival features activities for kids, over 130 arts & crafts vendors, raffles and live music ranging from big band to R&B and country rock. Sorry, no pets. Easter at the Old Bridge in Sunset Beach
